Our Story
Haven was founded in 2025 by a team of Africans who had personally experienced—or knew someone who had experienced—the terror of being stranded on a dangerous highway with no way to call for help.
We watched as international safety apps promised protection but failed spectacularly in African conditions. They assumed constant internet connectivity. They didn't understand our roads, our languages, or the security challenges facing communities from Nigeria to Cameroon, the Sahel to East Africa.
"My sister was stuck on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway with no network. If she had Haven, we would have known exactly where she was."
So we built something different. We built Haven with Africa in mind from day one — starting in Nigeria and expanding across the continent. Voice activation that understands Pidgin, Swahili, and local languages. Mesh networking that relays SOS signals through other Haven users when there's no internet. Real-time threat intelligence covering 54 African countries and major routes.
Today, Haven is more than an app—it's a movement of people looking out for each other across the continent. Every Haven user is part of a network that makes everyone safer.
